Tradition

We are fans. We are big fans. Neither one of us graduated from The Ohio State University and we are still HUGE fans. There is nothing that compares to living in Columbus, Ohio, six miles from The Shoe in the fall. The crisp air on game day morning makes for a glorious awakening. There is great tradition honored while grabbing your caffeine kick of choice and hearty breakfast alongside fellow fans decorated in Scarlet and Gray, their flags flying proud as they make the trek to Lane Avenue. We don’t get all crazy; we don’t turn the TV off if the game isn’t going our way. We don’t paint our faces, and most of the time we don’t scream profanities. We just enjoy.

Family traditions are important and this year, Gracie is old enough to enjoy ours. She will remember these days. She will remember listening to Carmen Ohio on the way to school. She will remember pretending to do Script Ohio in the living room and pleading “more, more” when Hang On Sloopy has played all the way through for the 27th time before 9am.

We are ready at our house. Ready for the tradition that is OHIO STATE FOOTBALL.
