Loud House

Charlie screams and then Gracie screams. Repeat 5 times. The dogs bark. My phone vibrates off the counter, crashing on the hardwood below. Gracie says “uh-oh” and asks for more blueberries and milk. “I love you mama and I missed you today” she whispers as I refill her bowl. The Fresh Beat Band sings from the family room and I hear the bathtub filling upstairs. The dryer shouts to let me know it is finished. Charlie asks for more cheerios and yells when I don’t respond swiftly enough. I laugh but only I hear it. Heads full of chaos and hearts full of calm. We make it work.
