Mama Behr

Hues of cinnamon and nutmeg infused with copper and terra cotta muddle into a vast blob of blah. My roller goes up and down, up and down, scattering the tint of buttered caramel on the wall. I question the chosen pallet of the room. Warm tones make me calm—don’t they? Don’t they!? Sharply, I twist under an ocean of earth tones and dirt. Finally, I recall the deep crimson couch that resides in my living room. I remember the painting on my mantle that clinches color resembling a kaleidoscope. I float to the top and breathe. Raffia Cream was the safe choice.
“Safe choice maker” -- It’s who I am.
