Second Thoughts
The internet has shown me piles of pictures like the ones below. I enjoyed seeing the anticipation of new beginnings and new backpacks. Friends filled social media pages with sentiments for the first day of school. Many said things like “where has the time gone?” or “she didn’t cry but Mommy sure did.”
For a second I felt heaps of guilt for my lack of tears.
