Last month we took the girls to the circus for their first and probably last time. Gracie was scared. Charlie was fascinated. I was disturbed. Dogs should not be dressed up and made to dance. Magnificent horses are not bred to do routines and elephants should not be carrying midgets around on their backs. It was totally creepy.
Later in the week when the show was over, the animals walked down Goodale Blvd. to board their train. Gracie enjoyed this and still talks about the “elphanants.”
